ABOUT US

Chained Dog Awareness New Zealand is a small group of volunteers who are working hard to end the life-chaining of dogs in NZ by creating awareness; working with dog-owners; advocating for changes to welfare legislation & basically helping the animals we come across in any way we can!

OUR GOALS – CDANZ.

The Chained Dog Awareness NZ Trust (CDANZ) was created in 2001 to inform people of the increasing number of dogs that are permanently chained or locked away and for whom existence is a living hell.

We ensure that someone speaks up for them and we attempt to alleviate their suffering. We ultimately wish to see a total ban on life-chaining in New Zealand.

CHAINED DOG AWARENESS – WHAT WE DO.

• We provide education to those owners willing to accept help so that their dogs can continue to live with them with better shelter, food, water, medical treatment, more social involvement, be desexed to avoid over-population, and to be registered and microchipped according to the law.

• We offer advice, encouragement and support nationwide to members of the public who are willing and able to actively help life-chained dogs that they are aware of.
